An interactive session with Marble and Gangsaw Association of Rajsamand
To highlight and explore further the vast export potential of the industrious city of Rajasthan-Rajsamand which is most famous for its marble craft, and which is also the single largest marble producing unit and district in the country, WTC Jaipur collaborated with Marble and Gangsaw Association of Rajsamand and MSME Jaipur to organize an interactive session with the members of association and manufacturing fraternity of Rajsamand on 26th September 2019 at the association seminar hall, Rajsamand.
Mr. Madhusudhan Vyas , Secretary General , Marble and Gangsaw Association of Rajsamand explained the present status of the marble production capabilities of Rajsamand “of the good varieties of marble found in Rajasthan – Agaria, Amet, Kelwa, Morwad, Kotri, Parvati, Morchana,Vani,Talai, Saprav Ka Guda, Rajsamand Thodi Nijharana, Umti, Jhanjer, Arna, Dharmita, Koyal are extensively mined in Rajsamand. Typically, the marble found in Rajsamand area is off-white and greyish white.” Highlighting the need for overseas buyer Mr. Madhusudhan quoted “the manufacturer of Rajsamand today with their very competitive pricing and consistent quality is willing to explore the markets globally. To add value to the product offering a variety of customized package could be offered as supply of marble together with polishing, carving solutions to provide finished product through a single window.”
Mr. Shahi Ram, R.I.S., General Manager, District Industries Centre Rajsamand, Government of Rajasthan urged “with the introduction of Udyog Aadhaar, things have changed and to some extent, have improved for medium, small and micro-enterprises. If you own a medium, small or micro enterprise by registering your MSME via UAM (Udyog Aadhar Memorandum), you will be liable to enjoy numerous benefits.”
Mr. Ravi Sharma, President, Marble and Gangsaw Association of Rajsamand while elaborating the business profile and environmental compliances said “Rajsamand the district of largest marble deposits has about 250 modern Gangsaw, 125 mineral grinders & 20-25 tiling units operational. Marble Gangsaw Association, Rajsamand has identified & developed dumping site in 250 bigha area near to the Nandora village. Marble slurry is also dumped at low-lying area for the purpose of landfilling; hence the association aims to keep the region pollution free and conducive to growth of flora and fauna.”
The program saw wide participation from over 75 manufactures and discussed various initiatives which WTC Jaipur can engage in with Association for betterment of cross border marble trade.
