WTC Jaipur organizes “Tourism Day” in association with Department of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in collaboration with World Trade Centre Jaipur, HRAR ( Hotels and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan) and IIHM  Jaipur ( International Institute of Hotel Management) organized “Paryatan Parv” ( Tourism Day) in Jaipur at “ Hawa Mahal” , one of the most important monuments of Jaipur on 15th October 2017. The “Paryatan Parv” was organized across the country from the 5th to 25th October 2017. The event was attended by over 150 participants .

The objective of the programme was to draw focus on the benefits of tourism, showcase the cultural diversity of the country and reinforce the principle of “Tourism for All”. The event envisaged large scale participation by the public as well as industry stakeholders. A series of events and activities were organized which included illumination in and around tourist site of Hawa Mahal, Cultural Programme, Walkathon, competitions for students, sensitization programme for tourism service providers and yoga demonstrations. In addition, it was further  planned to organize at various other import tourist destinations with in the State, interactive sessions and workshops on varied themes related to skill development in the tourism sector, development of rural tourism sites, and media related activities .

Mr. S R Meena, Director, India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India said , “In the last few years’ youth travel within the country has witnessed a strong growth. Paryatan Parv is one event which motivates youths to not only travel to different parts of the country but also involve in spreading the message of Paryatan Parv among the countrymen. The Parv aims at inculcating tourism culture among youths so they could become key influencers in promoting tourism in the country. As a part of the Paryatan Parv , Department of Youth Affairs, Government of India also organizes activities like Tribal Youth Exchange Programme, “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” -Inter State Youth Exchange Programme, Neighborhood Youth Parliament (one programme in each State),District level Sports Tournament, District level Cultural Programme (one programme in each State),Awareness programme on the importance of tourism especially for rural youth and tourism (one programme in each State ) across the Country. In addition, activities like Cyclothon, River Walks, Heritage walks and Trekking has also been organized.”
